From: Paul Edwards, mutazilah@gmail.com To: Committee Secretary, PJCIS, PO Box 6021, Parliament House, Canberra ACT 2600, Australia Date: 2021-01-08 Dear Sir, This is the THIRD ADDENDUM to my previous submission regarding: "Inquiry into extremist movements and radicalism in Australia". In my second addendum, I stated this: I treat every smoker outside my house as if he were a 7-foot tall Maori who is already pissed off about his wife leaving him, and has a naturally bad temper, and I have previously heard his wife screaming (before she left him) and I've seen him beat someone outside my house to a pulp in the past, and he's just got out of prison for an assault charge after previously being let out for a murder charge. I have since realized that this is not the complete story, and now I enter another extreme position. If someone attacks ME, it has to be pretty severe before I will respond, even though I have the inherent right of self-defense. I will instead let it slide, and see if OTHERS will gang up on the human rights violator, and do a citizens arrest, and call the police. I may try to run away, and most observers would probably suspect that I am a coward, potentially running away from someone smaller than me. However, if SOMEONE ELSE is illegally attacked, I will respond violently to THAT, if I think I am in with a chance. You can see exactly that playing out here: http://antisubjugator.blogspot.com/2010/02/indian-rumblings.html This is counter-intuitive and the exact opposite of what almost everyone else in the world will do. To abstract the problem some more, ideally, if I were the US President after 9/11, I would have sat completely still and said nothing at all. I first of all want to see how the ENTIRE REST OF THE WORLD is going to react. In an ideal world (which is exactly what we should be aiming for), the entire non-US world should have said "We're not exactly sure why the US is sitting still and saying nothing, but WE will not stand for this attack on a beautiful democracy that has done so much for the world. WE are going to spare no effort, and we are not going to rest until the root cause of 9/11 has been identified and completely eliminated from earth. In short, we're about to tip the ENTIRE WORLD upside-down.". Another abstraction. In my opinion the ADF should be renamed to the AOF (Australian Offense Force) and be permanently deployed overseas, trying to spread the ideology of freedom (by liberating others, exactly as it did in Afghanistan and Iraq), and forbidden to operate on Australian territory until such time as Australia itself is actually under attack. We can instead ask allied countries to station THEIR troops/assets in Australia as required. This provides the AOF with a strong incentive to ensure that Australia has as many ideological allies as possible. It's not just Australia that should be doing this - all members of the free world should. As I said, radical, counter-intuitive, extreme. I am trying to spread my extremist ideology, and willing to call on other state actors - NOT terrorists - to help spread my ideology, by force of arms if I can convince them that it is a good idea AND they have a decisive military advantage - I don't want to have a bloody drawn-out war over this radical issue - although I note that the US War of Independence was a bloody drawn-out war to install a radical constitution. But I am only doing it by exercising my freedom of speech to espouse my radical and controversial ideas. I am a 100% completely peaceful Australian citizen. Again, I understand that I am completely and utterly outgunned. Marx was similarly peaceful, but had radical (and stupid) ideas too. Those ideas inspired others to act, violently. Perhaps someone will be inspired to implement my ideas too. Perhaps that someone will be the Australian government. I can't predict what it will do. The Australian government has ALREADY violently implemented SOME of my ideology when they bombed Afghanistan and Iraq to install democracy. I hope the Australian government will continue their good work, even if we don't share the EXACT same ideology. Maybe the Australian government thinks that MY radical ideas are as stupid as Marx's. I don't know. And the Australian government is not the only government I lobby.
